Apologies


I wish I could apologize…I cannot find the words,
Disappearing in a flash and leaving the warmth of your heart,
I am a fool…I found you…then threw you away,
Never will you hear the tearful words of sorrow echoing from my lips,
Regret and pain that torment my mind around midnight.

I wish I could apologize…I cannot find you,
Paths to your door have vanished into a time filled haze,
Avenues closed with righteous reason…I understand,
I torture myself with the thought of what I had,
Throwing what I found into the arms of someone more deserving.

Apologies are worthless…they will never be heard,
Living with the foolish choices I made,
Nevertheless…I miss everything she never gave…things you did,
Condemned to a life of heartsick musings,
Wishing I could reverse time, undo mistakes, and touch your soul with mine…again.
