At A Distance
For You Who Will Never Know...
I think of you sometimes,
How we share the same knocks in romance and life,
Could it work because we have things in common?
You hardly know I exist.
I remember the day that you liked the music I was playing,
You never knew I thought you were pretty, and great,
I think of your pain and compare it to mine,
Wondering if the distance between us might shorten someday.
I am alone, are you alone too?
If you knew how I felt you would probably turn away,
I'll think of you often and wonder how you're doing,
Knowing there's a divide, but loving you anyway.
