Happy Birthday


Happy birthday...it's been a whole year,
Remembering it like yesterday...we aren't together I fear.
Laying in my arms on your very special day,
Wanting it to last forever...guess I couldn't have it my way.
I still can't forget the time we spent entwined,
Recalling your birthday past...from the recesses of my mind.
Lying alone...wondering if this birthday you possess,
Love that brings you happiness...as you make new love in the darkness.
Happy birthday...trying to wish you the best,
Sure that you've forgotten about the last one...as you have all the rest.
