Non-Essential


Our society has no need,
For skills Americans possess,
Trying hard to hold onto our jobs,
While work gets shipped south and west...

Good pay's a farcical dream,
Foreigners skulking around the wings,
Charades played to sate the job market's fear,
But jobs keep leaving for overseas...

Beating the red, white and blue against a wall,
Gone is the American Dream,
China, Mexico and India know name of the game,
Satiating those who bitch and moan about the price of American made...

Smile a broad grin when you're handed a slip of pink,
When your boss lays you off with a corporate-forced wink,
Our stock and trade is headed for the drain in a lower paid sink,
Who'll provide all your needs and wants for cheap...
