The Name Of Love

I read the words in a letter,
One you hold so near and dear,
Penned not from my hand,
Filling my heart with fear.

The lines they seem familiar,
Written passages filled with words I say,
Your heart betrothed to another,
Until sadness took it all away.

I wonder why you see him in your soul,
I'll never understand the pain,
Letters of love kept to this day,
True love cannot remember a name.

Gone are the nights when your star still shined,
Feelings of love before that day,
The name you will always love, my dear,
Memories that never fade away.
