Vase

Standing before me upright and tall,
Perfection in line do I see in my eyes.
Others have gazed and touched smooth texture,
They see imperfections and cast away the soul.

I see the cracks that time has placed,
Yet perfection there is in divine crevices.
Some say nay and wish for another,
But my eyes see the beauty that time has given.

No more will others cast a gaze on the fragile glaze,
Professing that marks make beauty unreachable.
I see perfection in all the scratched curves,
In my eyes the breath of Venus graces the exquisite shape.

Standing before me upright and tall,
Perfection my eyes do see in every marred line.
The marks of the past make me love you all the more,
Repair I shall the cracks that cruelty has placed on your soul.
